Entertain Your Cat for Hours With This DIY Laser Tower

When it comes to cats, one thing is for certain: they love countless hours of laser chasing. Unfortunately, as a pet owner, there is only so much time in the day to spend twirling around a pointer satisfying their hunting instincts. So, “La Fabrique DIY” decided to build their own distraction device using an Arduino, two servos, a pan/tilt camera platform mount, and an Altoids tin for an enclosure.

The Arduino moves the servo tower around and lights up the laser dot, emulating the movement of an insect.

The Arduino moves the laser pseudo-randomly reproducing the behavior of an insect and training the cat to become a ninja. The brightness of the laser was boosted only for the purpose of the video. The final circuit includes some resistors to make it less dangerous for the eyes.
