EMG + ECG + EEG = E3K All-In-One Bio-Sensing Platform

Open source E3K platform enables hassle-free data acquisition and visualization for bio-sensing projects.

Coming soon to Crowd Supply, the E3K from WallySci combines electromyography (EMG), electrocardiography (ECG) and electroencephalography (EEG) sensors in a single framework, enabling measurement of muscle movements, heartbeats and brainwaves respectively.

Combined with a 9-DOF inertial measurement unit (IMU) to capture motion and a Wi-Fi and BLE-enabled data communication and processing unit (DCPU), the E3K is a self-contained platform for biological research. And in case all of that weren't enough, on-board UART, I²C and SPI support plus 10 GPIO pins, six analog pins and two DACs provide ample opportunities for additional sensing and communication. Open source data acquisition and visualization software completes the package, allowing even novice researchers to start seeing results straight away.

The DCPU is powered by Espressif's ESP32-DevKitC V4, which offers 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi plus Bluetooth v4.2 BR/EDR and BLE thanks to the on-board ESP32-WROOM-32D. In addition to all of the above-mentioned I/O, the board features a battery connector and charging circuitry in order to enable portable LiPo power. Two user buttons and two LEDs round out the package. Firmware can be updated using the Arduino IDE, as with any other ESP32.

The campaign for the E3K bio-sensing platform will be launching soon, and you can sign up now to be notified when it goes live.
