If you really love (or hate) dealing with trick-or-treaters on Halloween, perhaps you still have time to whip up this spooky little prank. Using an Arduino, two servos, and an ultrasonic sensor, the DIY system drops a fake spider down onto unsuspecting guests when they get too close.
The first video deals with how to make it, while the second one outlines how you can take things up a notch by adding silly string. With this enhanced setup, if a guest screams at your spider, it will spray the visiting monster with silly string. As they retreat in panic, you can then enjoy your candy in peace. Muhahaha!
You can find the Arduino code on NYC CNC’s site here. For an alternate way of dealing with Halloween traffic, a custom Netflix doorbell might also do the trick.
