Blues Goes for the Triple with the New Notecard for Skylo, with Wi-Fi, Cellular, and Satellite Comms

One module, three ways to connect — and, as always, you get a data bundle with the device to get you started.

Internet of Things (IoT) communications specialist Blues has announced the launch of the Notecard for Skylo — offering Wi-Fi, cellular, and non-terrestrial network (NTN) satellite connectivity in a single module.

"Today we're pleased to announce the availability of Notecard for Skylo — a first for Blues and the wireless connectivity industry" Blues' Rob Lauer says of the module, unveiled this week at Embedded World 2026 in Nuremberg. "With Cellular, WiFi, and Satellite on a single Notecard design, it's the only module to combine all of these with bundled data and no monthly fees."

Designed to drop in to the existing Blues ecosystem in place of existing Notecards, the Notecard for Skylo includes 2.4GHz single-band Wi-Fi, narrowband LTE-M/NB-IoT/GPRS cellular connectivity, and non-terrestrial network (NTN) satellite connectivity — and, like other Notecards, data is bundled into the purchase: buyers get 500MB of cellular data and 10kB of satellite data, without the need to sign up to a subscription or pay recurring fees.

"Until now, adding satellite to your product meant adding a 2nd module (e.g. Blues Starnote)," Lauer says, while reassuring existing users that the Starnote will still remain a current product. "And if you didn't use Starnote, you also had to worry about adding a second data plan and a second set of integration headaches. Notecard for Skylo changes that by putting all three network options on a single board, with a single unified developer API [Application Programming Interface]."

The Notecard for Skylo has already been listed on the Blues store at $89, with shipments expected to start at the end of the week; buyers will also need a suitable Notecarrier to make use of the module.
