Bambu P2S Details Are Here
Bambu Lab has just released information about the launch of the new P2S and we're sharing everything we know.
The P1S has been a very well-regarded model in the Bambu Lab 3D printing community for years now, as it offers a lot of utility at an affordable price. It is a popular workhorse model for people who want capability without a lot of frills. But it has been on the market for well over two years and Bambu has recently been teasing the release of a new P2S model. Now the wait is over and we’ve got all of the details to share with you.
The Bambu Lab P2S is a direct successor to the P1S, but it isn’t a replacement. Bambu Lab tells us that they’ll continue to sell and support the P1S after the launch of the P2S. The price of the P2S isn’t set in stone yet, but it should be similar to the current $549 P1S price. That would imply that we can expect to see a price drop on the P1S.
The P2S will have the same 256×256×256mm build volume as the P1S and outwardly, it looks very similar. But it has several enhancements (many of them borrowed from the H2 series) that should make it a significant upgrade compared to the P1S:
New touchscreen
The P1S has a basic monochrome LCD with a few control buttons. The P2S will have a large 5” full-color touchscreen with Bambu’s 2ndgeneration user interface, like the H2 series. That interface is very good, so this will be nice improvement.
Adaptive airflow
Like the H2 series, the P2S will have adaptive airflow capabilities to pull in cool outside air or recirculate warm inside air (through a filter) as necessary to maintain an optimal chamber temperature. There isn’t any active heating element, but the heat from the build plate and hot end will bring the chamber up to temperatures suitable for the filament in use.
Better camera and AI
The P2S will get a high-quality 1080p camera and an AI system, like that on the H2 series, to detect failures such as spaghetti, nozzle blobs, and air printing. That nicer camera will also allow for better timelapses and live video feeds.
New extruder and hot end
The P2S is getting a stronger extruder that can push filament with more force and consistency at high flow rates. It will also get a quick-swap hot end, similar to the A1 and H2 series, that works with a single clip—no fussing with screws or wire connectors.
AMS 2 Pro combo
The AMS 2 Pro is already compatible with the P1S, but the P2S will get it as standard in the combo package. Compared to the original AMS, the AMS 2 Pro offers improved filament change speeds and active drying.
Bambu Lab has tentatively priced the P2S at $549 USD, or $799 for the combo with an AMS 2 Pro. Tariffs may affect that and the release date isn't yet known.
