Arduino Launches the New Braccio ++ Robot Arm

If you’d like to learn about industrial-style educational robotics, Arduino has an exciting new offering: the Braccio ++ robot arm. This arm moves with the help of six servos, including a geared gripper setup on the end. Computing power is provided by an included Nano RP2040 Connect board.

Intended for educational purposes, setting up and using this arm should do a good job of simulating the challenges of using robotics in a real-wold industrial system. The Braccio ++ features an e-learning platform to help students (and instructors) along in their learning pursuits, with lessons and instructions.

The Braccio ++ is the next iteration of the Tinkerkit Braccio robot arm, and while similar on the surface, packs a number of improvements. These include a new Nano RP2040 carrier board with an LCD screen, RS485 servo motors, and an enhanced user experience. The arm is constructed using a recycled build material called EcoAllene. This looks quite sharp in images, though as a recycled material, the color may vary.
