Announcing the Winners of the Amazon Alexa Skill Contest

The time has come! Back in April, we launched the first-ever “Hey Alexa! The Amazon Alexa Skill Contest” with Amazon. Two months later, the challenge has finally come to a close but not without the input of 760 participants and 100 published Alexa skill projects.

It is believed that voice-controlled interfaces will be the next major disruption in computing, and these entries surely didn’t disappoint. From opening your garage to finding your optimal workout time to checking your train’s arrival times, the possibilities are truly endless.

The best part? Each project’s instructions and source code are available on Hackster. Be sure to check out all the submissions and how Makers used the Alexa Skills Kit to enable voice experiences in their everyday connected lives.

So without further ado, the winners are…

Morse Coder An Alexa skill that helps you become an expert at Morse code. Encode any name and learn from among more than 2,500 codes.

Tickle Monster An entertaining, easy-to-understand game that uses voice interactions to reach beyond the Echo. Bringing families and friends together for a good laugh.

Sub War Dodge torpedoes as you hunt submarines in this multi-player interactive game for Alexa.
