Audio assistants on alternative hardware like the Raspberry Pi are nothing new, but hacker “MrBuddyCasino,” (aka Michael Böckling) has managed to port an Alexa client onto the tiny ESP32. This, of course, opens up all kinds of miniaturization possibilities, apparently including stuffing the module into a rather scary plush bunny.
Aside from the ESP32, the project uses the MAX98357A MAX98357A I2S DAC and ICS-43434 microphone.
Yes, this small “Electric Bunny of Death” has embedded within it an ESP32 , along with a motion sensor, microphone, and speaker. This enables it to cackle maniacally, and answer such queries as, “Hello rabbit, tell me a joke,” after being bopped on the head.
But that’s not all. Programmable NeoPixels are placed under its fur behind the ears, providing an additional “blinky” feedback method.
