Modern operating systems do their best to hide their inner workings and underpinnings from users. Unless you go out of your way to find it, you won't see any information about your PC's performance and resource usage. But that information can be useful if you're pushing your computer to its limits. If you want to see exactly how hard your CPU is working, you can add this rad TurboLEDz 88s CPU Load Graph to your PC case.

TurboLEDz is a small PCB with eight individual LED bar graphs. Using the provided Linux daemon or Windows service application, the LED graphs will light up in response to your current CPU load. There is a optional mounting hardware that you can use to put your TurboLEDz board in your 5.25" drive bay where you can see it in action.

An Arduino Pro Micro board controls the LEDs. When plugged into one of your motherboard's USB headers, it appears as a Raw HID and receives the data sent by the daemon/service application. TurboLEDz isn't cheap — $119 for the PCB kit or as much as $197 assembled with the mounting hardware on Tindie. But it is a cool way to add blinky goodness to your PC and to keep track of your CPU's workload.
