If, for whatever reason, you decide you need a fairly large scoreboard for home or school use, YouTuber Bob Clagett (aka I Like to Make Stuff) has a great solution.

His scoreboard is large enough to be seen at a distance yet small enough to be relatively portable. Processing power is provided by an Arduino 101, which has the same footprint as the venerable Uno, but packs a few new tricks including an Intel Curie with onboard BLE capabilities.

Thanks to this Bluetooth connectivity, the scoreboard can be controlled using a smartphone via the BLE101 app. Score display is accomplished by an array of RGB LEDs shining through a custom 3D-printed diffuser.
