Project Introduction:
In order to manage the safe distance between student tables in the class. We have created a prototype that will alert the students and teachers if the classroom tables are too close to each other by displaying 3 different LED colors depending on the distance and buzz if the student's tables are too close to each other. Our prototype consists of a "ToF Unit" that senses distance and RGB Unit that displays different colors depending on how close the tables are.
We have also added an extra feature that measures the room temperature and alert the students and teachers at the classroom is too warm. The M5Stack LCD will also display the distance between tables and the room temperature.
Why did our group decide to work on this project?
Even though students are able to return to school for lessons, but it's not an easy task to ensure that they are following the Covid-19 safety measurements. e.g the tables in the classroom will be set 1m apart as safety distancing, but younger children might not take this seriously and might move the table around or closer to their friends. It would be troublesome for the teachers to keep them in check all the time as it will affect their lesson.
