This is a simple circuit to show how to turn on a LED and use it as flashlight.
"Trying to meet STEAM education ideology."
We can learn to read schematics, identify symbols, make some math to select the proper resistor value and solder.
When you finished the assemble you'll get knowledge, a nice LED flashlight wich could be use as keychain.
Check the backside and see how the limit resistor is calculated, it's important to not blown your LED.
Check the PCB's backside, it has the "math" and the schematic circuit.
nice, right? You can teach this & more:
- Calculate the LED limit resistor
- Read a circuit and identify basic simbols( switch, LED, resistor, power supply, battery)
- How current flow
- How to polarized a LED (anode & cathode)
- Soldering
I wanted to make a kit for everyone, easy to assembly and ready to make you shine, it had to be educational and meet the S.T.E.A.M ideology.
You can get fun, kids can get fun, you can share & learn.
Assembly-> The bottom pads are 30% bigger to help you to solder with ease.
The pcb were made with PCBway, they did a great job, nice colors. tight soldermaks and sharp silkscreen.
I didn't know how to start and what size could be good, so I took a " touch tag" as a reference, it's a litle gadget to send lora packets.
I took the dimension as a reference then I added the flashlight details and shapes.
The first flashlight was made with general purpose PCB, I did the cutout and added a papaer sticker as silkscreen.
- Artwork: Inkscape
- Sch&PCB design: Autodesk Eagle free version & Fusion360
- Others: Gerbv ( Gerber viewer)
I did the schematic draw by hand then imported to Inkscape, I love the result, also add an empty space" Belongs to", this place is to put your name on it.
Did you see the " I can solder " keyword & "PCBway logo" ?
Well , your logo can be there :D
