Do you hear about physical computing? The output device of generally used computer is limited to monitor. If you input data with keyboard and mouse, it goes through CPU and it will output with monitor and printer. But, In physical computing technology, the result computed by computer will be printed out to real world. For example, we can use light sensor as input device. Then if it gathers lights from external factor, finally through CPU, LED, working as a output device, will be printed out.
I register for this fab lab course from Bongil-cheon High School, and I would like to learn about all of physical computing.
So today, I learned about...
1. The basics of Arduino UNO board
2. Digital OUTPUT: How to turn the LED on or off on a cycle
3. Analog OUTPUT: How to change the brightness of the LED
Now let's talk about those 3 things.
1. Arduino Board
Arduino UNO Board, a widely used open-source hardware, is composed of 14 Digital pins, CPU, 6 Analog pins and so on.
First, In Digital pin, there is PWM(Pulse Width Modulation). It is a kind of digital pins which has ' ~ ' in front of the number. It could imitate analog signal with digital signal, so it is possible to control the bright of LED. The intensity of it can be adjusted from 0 to 255.
+ p.s. Digital pin use binary digit circuit. So you can use "0" and "1" instead of "LOW" and "HIGH".
+ CAUTION!! ; Don't connect pin 0 and pin 1 directly!!! It has danger of Explosion!!!
Second, the CPU (Central Processing Unit) serves as human's brain. It is important thing to computer. This gorgeous device interpret and calculate command and print out the result.
Third, analog volts value (0V~5V) returns from 0 to 1023.
2. Digital OUTPUT; Turn the LED on/off on a cycle
3. Analog OUTPUT: Change the brightness of the LED
