Raspberry Pi based Attendance system using SB rfid HAT

The RFID Attendance system is a radio frequency-based system that refers to the technology whereby digital data encoded, by the programmer, in the RFID cards or key fobs. The RFID reader is programmed to capture the radio signals from the cards or key fobs to act in a programmed way. It is similar to the process of barcode technology in which a reader captures the data by scanning the barcode. RFID attendance system assists the user by saving the data of the people, who have the cards or key fobs to access the system, which an authorized administrator can use to make attendance sheets.

How does it work?

RFID technology comes in the section of the technology of AIDC or Automatic Identification and Data Capture. This section of technology identifies the data on their own, captures or collects the data, and saves those data for further use without any human interaction. It does not only makes the process simple but also enhances the capability of the user. An administrator just needs to input the data of the people into the readers with the assigned keyfobs and cards then provide each person their tags. When a person takes their card or key fob in the range of that particular RFID then the readers would identify that card and then save the data, with date and time, for further usage after capturing it.

Features

The administrator interface has the functionality in which an authorized administrator can add or delete any data related to a key fob or card to access or deny the entry of a person. The administrator also has the advantage, of protecting the RFID reader from any unauthorized person to modify data, by making the system password protected.

How to runattendance system app on raspberry pi ?

• Clone or download github repository mentioned in this project. then open SB-RFID-HAT >> Attendance_system folder.
• Double click on attendance system icon to run attendance system GUI (Graphical user interface).

• Before starting, first add user. to add user click on admin button then enter password ( default is 123456). and press login button.
• After login, you can use these three options:

1) Add : click on this button to add new user, then show your rfid tag/card in front of rfid reader. after detection you can see your card number in card fiels. now enter name in name field for scanned card and click on add button to add it. similarly you can add other cards as well from this screen.

2) Delete : To delete an existing user from list, click on delete button, then select user name from list then click on delete button to delete it.

3) Show records: You can use this option to view valid scanned card record with date and time.
