Things used in this project

Hardware components

Arduino MKR1000
Arduino MKR1000
you can use any 2 board that uses the WINC1500 wifi module and is arduino ide compatible
×1
Adafruit Feather M0 WiFi - ATSAMD21 + ATWINC1500
this board is optional if you don't have access to the other two boards but you will have to slightly change the code to accommodate this board
×1
Arduino Wifi Shield 101
Arduino Wifi Shield 101
you can use any board that uses the WINC1500 wifi module and is arduino ide compatible

Schematics

there is no schematic just plugin your board into your computer(s)

Code

wifichatserver made by arduino.cc

C/C++
to operate this code you need to insert your ssid and its network password where it asks for it in the code then upload to your board and open your serial monitor. there you will get a message that reads "connecting to ssid:(right here should be your ssid) ." wait until you get a message that contains the tcp port, the boards ip address, and other things. But if the connecting to ssid message continues to repeat several times, your ssid or password is probably incorrect. also this code only works with the arduno mkr1000 or with the arduino 101 shield
/*
 Chat  Server

 A simple server that distributes any incoming messages to all
 connected clients. To use telnet to your device's IP address and type.
 You can see the client's input in the serial monitor as well.

 This example is written for a network using WPA encryption. For
 WEP or WPA, change the Wifi.begin() call accordingly.
