Regardless of who you’re voting for today, this recent project will make you chuckle. During a DorkbotPDX meeting at the Ctrl-H Hackerspace, “Thomas” created a Donald Trump piñata to add some humor to his birthday shenanigans.
The piñata is monitored by an accelerometer connected to a Teensy 3.2 board, which triggers audio clips from the Republican nominee stored on an SD card with every strike. Meanwhile, a nodeMCU posts the accelerometer hits in Gs to data.sparkfun.com and graphs it on analog.io/sADI. This goes on until the piñata breaks and Trump falls to the ground.
Ready to make your parties great again? You can find the entire build on Hackaday.io. Trump fan? Don’t fret, as obviously this can be replicated for Hillary (or any other person of your choosing).
