To use the Omega without a dock, we can build a regulator circuit to feed it the power it needs. Using Onion's mechanical drawings available at GitHub, I designed a 3D printable enclosure for the Omega that includes space for the regulator circuit and batteries!

Getting Started
The goal is to hook up a reliable regulated 3.3V power supply for the Omega to work properly.
Regulator CircuitThe LM317 is the heart of our project and it has three pins: INput, OUTput, and ADJustment. The device component count is very minimal, employing two resistors. We can use several resistor combinations and there are online calculators for it.
Using 2 x 18650 instead of 4 x AAA
Not only the voltage must be correct but also the positive and negative must reflect the pins at the Omega so we must make sure the batteries + / - poles are positioned accordingly.
