**THIS IS STILL A PROTOTYPE**
First of all, Why?The evaporative coolers are very good choices for arid environments, because they increase the humidity of air while cooling the air. and well I live in a arid environment and I have a evaporative cooler! The control unit of these coolers is like a three key wall switch, and well there's only one of these in the house. Now imagine waking up cold in the middle of night and you have to walk to the wall switch to turn the cooler off! its so painful and well I decided to make it easy by controlling the cooler with phone through the Bluetooth!
CHILLY has two different modes, a manual mode which you can turn everything ON and OFF, using onboard switches or Bluetooth, and an automatic mode which you give the device a desired temperature and it will make sure that the house temperature is right.
The power part is controlled by three relays, each controlled by one of the Arduino pins. I decided to use normal 5v relay modules, they can handle 10 Amps in 250v AC and this is MATHEMATICALLY enough for the motor of my cooler, but I have to test them anyway to make sure they wont take any damage because of run current which I heard its about 16 Amp in these kind of motors.
The relays circuit is pretty simple and they should just connect the 230v phase to the three wires who comes out of the cooler, through the wall and into the wall switch (which I should remove to put the completed device in the place)
In this mode, you have 3 buttons to work with, the Pump, Fan and the Speed button. by pressing each of them, you can turn the related relay ON or OFF and the relays will change the pump, fan and speed of the fan state.
For using CHILLY in auto mode, you should first go to setting page using SET button. in setting page you can change the desired temperature by using PUMP button for increasing and FAN button for decreasing it by one, you can also hold the buttons. after that, you should press speed button to activate the auto mode.
The Bluetooth works with a HC-05 module, and an Android app called "Arducontroller". its pretty simple, you can learn more about it in this video.
You can turn pump, fan and speed ON or OFF and read the room temperature using the app.
CHILLY uses a LM35 as a temperature sensor.
