The Random Rumble Generator (RRG) was originally invented by CammyCakes Gaming as a way to keep Destiny from becoming too stale and boring. The original RRG was an Excel spreadsheet where he manually listed all of his gear and wrote a formula to randomly generate load outs. This spreadsheet made for a very entertaining series of videos and fun gameplay for anyone who created a RRG of their own.
BackgroundDestiny has a unique API that allows players to remotely transfer weapons, armor, materials, and cosmetic items. Many developers have created websites to allow players to make the best use the API without any technical prowess. This API allows for unique functions that use gear transfers to achieve complex functionality. One of these is the "rainbow shader" that rapidly switches armor shaders to achieve a rainbow effect. After watching a video that highlighted the rainbow shader, I immediately wanted to create a similar function of my own.
ChallengesWhen building this skill there were many obstacles to overcome. First, the authentication methods of Bungie create issues for AWS integration. The authentication tokens had to be manipulated in order to allow the skill to link with the user's Xbox Live or PlayStation account. It was also difficult to get the API requests to go through. What might seem like mildly difficult skill quickly turned out to be an overwhelming challenge.
How to Use RRGUpon triggering RRG, a random load oat will immediately be generated and equipped for you. After this, the skill will remain dormant until called upon for your next game of PvP. The average user will use this 3 times a day. More active users might end up using RRG between 6 and 12 times on any given day. RRG will likely attract new users as many of the prospective users are people who would have no other reason to use Alexa skills.
CodeMy computer is being weird and python is having issues. I will upload the code as soon as I can.
