The program is a standard temperature conversion app. The temperature range is 0 K to 500 K – the slider used to display the temperature does not extend past these points. The left side displays two scales, with radio buttons to select units. The slider sets the degrees, and the scales will correspond to the slider’s temperature.
The app mimics a common thermometer - as the temperature increases, so does the amount of mercury.
