Playing darts is fun. Writing down the scores is sometimes a little bit annoying. Using a black- or whiteboard is too easy as we want to use latest electronic stuff ;-)
With some game variations its not too hard to keep the scores in mind. But especially one of my favourite training game called mickey mouse is none of these variations.
So I decided to use modern technology to solve this problem as I nedded some training in C# coding anyway.
When playing this game I announce my scores to the DartBuddy-Microphone with voice commands like saying the numbers hit, saying the numbers like "single eighteen, triple twenty, double bull, etc.", call "correct" to undo my last voice-command, calling "Check" when I finished the game and calling "New game" to start a new game. When the game is finished a little statistic is shown.
During the game are shown
- the latest command which was understood by DartBuddy
- a little log of some latest commands
- scores hit
- a webcam stream
The support of the camera is mainly because I use a cheap webcam with a microphone instead of a more expensive single microphone. Showing the camera stream is for use with monitors shown to the audience.
