A hologram is the refracting of light to display a 3 dimensional image of object which is seen without the aid of special eyeglasses or other intermediate optics. The images are basically just a 2D images. This hologram project can be best viewed in a darkened room. gen4 HMI displays can be used to make a simple hologram.
Implementation
Step 1: Build- Connect the components as shown in this diagram.
- Connect the gen4 display modules to the gen4 PA.
- Download the project here.
- Open the Master Folder, it contains the file for the LCD1 which will act as the Master Controller. This project uses the Visi Environment.
- You can modify the properties of each widget.
- After that, click “Paste Code”. This will copy the code for the object to your 4DGL program allowing the programmer to modify the functionality of each objects as desired.
- The program itself is coded for you, in case you want to modify some function and properties, you are free to do so.
- Click on the “Build Copy/Load” button.
Note: This step could be skipped. However, compiling is essential for debugging purposes.
Step 4: Upload- Connect the display to the PC using gen4 Interface Board and a mini USB cable. Make sure that you are connected to the right port. The red button indicates that the device is not connected, and the blue button indicates that the device is connected to the right port.
- Now click on the “(Build) Copy/Load” button.
- Workshop 4 will prompt you to select a drive to copy the image files to a uSD Card. After selecting the correct drive, click OK.
- The module will promptly you to insert the uSD card.
- Properly unmount the uSD Card from the PC and insert it to the uSD Card slot of the display module. The image below must appear on your display after completing the steps above.
- Open the Slaves Folder, it contains the file for the LCD2 which will act as Slave Displays. This project also uses the Visi Environment.
- Redo the steps from 1 to 5 for the remaining three displays.
- After loading the program, make sure that the connections of the GPIO of each gen4 PA and displays are connected properly.
- You can now install these displays on the hologram panel.
