It was the dream of my senior who is also co-developer of this project to build AI-based humanoid that is different from all other humanoids already in market.
As we all know that industry has achieved a lot in wheel-based bots as well as aerial bots, but still lagging behind in humanoids. This motivated us to take a first step in this domain, so we have created a robot which walks on two legs. The precise control of servo motor is done using MSP430 LaunchPad from Texas Instruments.
1. Design CAD structure on CAD tool.
2. Analyze 3D structure.
3. Print different parts on 3D printer. We have used PLA filament and have also shared the CAD files in attachments.
4. Assemble the bot.
5. Calibrate different servo motors.
6. Design and calibrate of walking pattern of robot and movement of arm. For this we have used Energia Software (calibrating the walking includes fine tuning the rotation angles of thigh, foot, knee and ankle motors). In addition, the rotation of buttock motors helps in balancing the weight so that robot does't fall during walking).
