Background: This is a design project for a new urban/navigation phone and smartwatch application. It is based on the idea of the dérive which is a concept developed by the Situationists where one "drifts" through a city in an unplanned way subconsciously directed by the surrounding architecture and geography with the ultimate goal of encountering an entirely new and authentic experience.
For this assignment, I chose to have the main user decide on the logistics of the adventure entirely, and so the other users will be going on this adventure with no preconceptions. My design of the interface is supposed to be intuitive (arrows, multiple choice format) with minimal instruction. The color scheme is easy on the eyes but the two colors, blue and orange, are contrasting enough so that upon selection or any type of change, the user will certainly know what happened if they perform some action. The watch interface is only present for other users as they are going on an adventure because I assumed that the main user would not be going on this same adventure since they planned it (and would therefore lack the element of "wandering").
